Interview

How did you get the idea to create your blog?

It started out because of Lookbook. My friends told me they wanted more photos of the looks so they told me to blog about it too. Eventually, my blog became a mishmash of everything girly and fun.

How would you describe your style?

I guess my style is dependent on my mood. I don't just stick to one style. When I'm feeling edgy, I'd dress up edgy. I'm very versatile in that sense.

What other blog, if you have one, inspires you in a special way and would you recommend? Besides LOOK 10 of course.

Who or what has been your greatest fashion inspiration and do you feel influenced by the trends?

My greatest fashion inspiration... hmmm... Tokyo I guess. Tokyo has been very liberated with its fashion. People could wear the most outrageous and not be judged. The moment I stepped into that wondrous city, and seeing all those people dressed up in different clothes, I fell more in love with fashion. And I realized that it wasn't just about looking good, it's revealing your self, that sense of freedom. Wear what you are.

Here's one quote my awesome professor gave me, "Clothes keep on speaking after we have shut up. I'm all for improving social landscape - I just hope you would realize why it is important not just to look good but what it does for the spirit and the self."

Do you think fashion blogs might influence big brands and of course designers and creators?

Of course, fashion blogs are already creating a big wave in the market. A lot of people would refer to blogs now before actually buying. Like if they want to buy a new wallet perhaps, they'd look for a fashion blogger who bought the same wallet and read the review and so forth.

How do you value the fashion market in your country? Do you think it's on an international level?

I believe that the fashion market here in the Philippines is already stepping up a ladder. We may not be like Tokyo. But people in our country nowadays are getting fashion forward.

Are you now with any project in hands that can lead you to where you want to be in the fashion world?

Initially, I had no plans of being in the fashion world. I just liked dressing up. I was planning to get into a big company and climb up the career ladder and earn lots of money. That was my only goal.

But here I am now, starting up an online shop. Check out Chic&19 SHOP page on Facebook! Everything I do, because I love fashion, leads me there.

Hopefully when the time comes, I'd be able to start up a store that will become famous globally. Something like H&M. I'm aiming for that.

Finally, would you like to add anything else or what’s the one question you wish people asked you but you’ve never had the opportunity to answer?

What motto of yours do you live by?

Everything that's happening in your life is both fate and choice intertwined.

Thank you very much!!! Really appreciate this feature :)
